Welcoming the first commercial vessel called at HHIT

February 6, 2025 - Today marks a historic milestone as Hateco Hai Phong International Container Terminal (HHIT) proudly welcomes its first commercial vessel - ESL DUBAI. This event not only signifies a new era in HHIT’s journey but also strengthens Hai Phong’s position as a key player in the global maritime industry.

From this day forward, the world's premier deep-sea ports is further solidified as HHIT introduces a state-of-the-art terminal, offering shipping lines, importers, and exporters enhanced options for seamless container transportation to the United States, Europe, and beyond.

The HHIT project, which broke ground in August 2022, has achieved an extraordinary feat in construction speed. In just 30 months - two months ahead of schedule - this world-class terminal has risen from blueprint to completion, a testament to meticulous planning, cutting-edge engineering, and relentless execution. Equipped with the most modern STS and RTG cranes in the world, cutting-edge terminal operation software, and Vietnam’s first OCR gate automation system and TAS, HHIT sets a new benchmark for efficiency and innovation. Designed to accommodate vessels up to 200,000 DWT, HHIT is poised to become a strategic hub for global trade, reinforcing Vietnam’s role in the international terminal operational landscape.
